Body mass index (BMI) Indicator
Body mass index (BMI) for many physicians and researchers studying obesity and uses a mathematical formula, for the person, the weight and height. BMI is a person with the same weight in kilograms divided by the square meter in the high (BMI = kg/m2). BMI measurement however, poses some problems with the same weight-for-height tables. Not everyone agrees with the cutoff points for “healthy” and “healthy” BMI range. BMI also no information about a person’s body fat percentage. However, as weight for height table, BMI is a useful general guideline and is a marker of body fat for most adults, 19 and 70 years. However, that may not accurately measure body fat for body builders, certain athletes, and pregnant women. Healthy weight is defined as body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than 19 and less than 25 among all people aged 20 years or more. In general, obesity is defined as body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than 30, which is approximately 30 pounds of excess weight. Obesity makes people at risk of developing serious health problems. WHO classification system using the BMI to define overweight and obesity.
